The Surya Narayan Rao Free Students’ Hostel, operated by Sewa Bharati Lakhimpur Kheri under Sewa Bharati Awadh Prant, is dedicated to providing safe accommodation, a value-based environment, and educational support to economically underprivileged yet meritorious students.
The hostel focuses on the holistic development of students—education, discipline, cultural values, and a spirit of service to the nation—helping them grow into self-reliant, responsible, and socially committed citizens.
Surya Narayan Rao Nishulk Chhatrawas – Project Overview
Surya Narayan Rao Nishulk Chhatrawas is an important and inspiring service initiative run by Sewa Bharati, Lakhimpur Kheri, under Sewa Bharati Awadh Prant.
The primary objective of this hostel is to provide economically underprivileged yet talented students with a safe, disciplined, and value-based environment along with free accommodation, nutritious food, educational support, and opportunities for holistic development, enabling them to move toward a brighter future without financial or social barriers.
At present, the hostel is home to 12 boys, all studying in Class 5. These students are enrolled at Dr. Hedgewar Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Lakhimpur Kheri, where they receive their formal school education.
Sewa Bharati ensures complete free support for lodging, meals, study materials, clothing, daily needs, and academic assistance, creating a caring and family-like atmosphere that nurtures confidence, self-reliance, discipline, and positive values among the students.
For the smooth functioning of the hostel and proper care of the children:

One mess worker manages clean and nutritious food arrangements.

One warden looks after discipline, daily routine, and overall supervision.

Two teachers provide additional academic guidance, homework support, and coaching to strengthen the students’ learning outcomes.
Beyond academics, the hostel places strong emphasis on character building, moral values, social responsibility, patriotism, cleanliness, punctuality, and community living.
Through prayer, yoga, group study, discussions, cultural activities, and a disciplined daily routine, the hostel works toward the overall personality development of each child.
This initiative of Sewa Bharati is a meaningful step toward connecting children from deprived sections of society with the mainstream and shaping them into educated, cultured, self-reliant, and responsible citizens.
